History

The Church of the Holy Rosary was built in 1901.
The first church is where the parish priest's house is situated nowadays. It was too small so they started to build a bigger church where the church carpark now is.That church was damaged in a storm while it was being built. It was half built at that stage but when the new archbishop was appointed he said there was a fault and knocked it down. The people also realised that it was going to be too small anyway and started all over again where the present church now stands. This church was opened in 1901 and celebrated its centenary in 2001.From an areal view it is shaped like a cross.
